British
Austin A35 2-door saloon from 1959
757 KPL - one of the last produced
Austin A35s...
From Lessingham, Norfolk - England. Arrived Denmark beginning
of october 2007.
The car got registrered 2. juli 1959 no. A2S5/HCS199540 by Mr.
Brayham Jones, 49 Tolworth Rd., Surbiton, Surrey, England. He
was a banker and did only use the car to work, ca. 4 miles, and
trips to the beach in South England.
Mr. Jones died in 1980 and his nephew, Brian Walker, Addlestone
inherited the car. He drove the car on a regular basis and in
1988 it had only clocked 53.680 miles (86.000 km). The A35 are
very original, exept he had on incident with the car, where he
got hit by another car in a roundabout in Honiton, Devon. The
car gor repaired and the rear left side got painted - you can
see the difference...
5. April 1998, the famous Austin A35 driver Paul Canty bought
the car, he's also known as the a great supporter of the footballclub
Arsenal (see his footballboots in the museum). He parked the car
in a barn on Lessingham Manor Farm in Norfolk, East England and
the speedo was at 76.923 miles (123.769 km.). It stood there for
9 1/2 years until it was driven to Samsø Austin Museum
4. oktober 2007 on a 219 miles drive. The A35 has now 77.142 miles
(124.121 km) on the clock....
The car is the most common of the Austin A35 range, and can be
recognized by the grille has a horseshoesurround. The body are
produced in Longbridge, Birmingham, England and the bodyshells
were dipped in three tanks (degreasing, antirust and primer),
before it went on to the assembly line (Rotodip).
The production of the Austin A35 started in 1956, as a successor
to the Austin A30 and production ceased 26. august 1959. This
car is from 2. juli 1959 and are manufactured within the last
8 weeks of the models life, cod be one of the last 1000 Austin
A35's ever made out of 100.284 pcs. The A35 has the old-fashioned
mechanical brakes rear and hydraulic brakes in the front. Also
the old crossply tires are still to be seen on this car...
Colour: SPRUCE GREEN - Weight 635 kgs.
The engine is the famous A-series engine producered over 48 years
in more than 14 million pcs. from 1952-2000. The Austin A35 are
born with the 948 cc engine and there was very few modifications
while the car was manufactured.
The museum has two more A35 Saloons 1957, an A35 Van from 1958
which hasn't been driven since 1970 and an A35 Countryman from
1965. Furthermore there is an A35 Saloon 1959 gold in a very bad
condition.

a genuine and complete original british Austin A35 and it will
be kept registrered on its original number plates.

Austin A35
Austin A35 Countryman from 1965
Cute little everyday-use car with 1098
ccm engine.
I got it from Ann as a birthdaypresent
and picked it up in Ashford, Kent - UK, in the beginning of september
2005.
Got it on DK-licenseplates 29th. november
2005.
If you need to know how I'm registrating
the car on DK-licenseplates, just let me know and I'll give you
all the hints I've got regarding customs, certificates, MOT, fees
etc.

I have my old A35 Saloon 1957, I got
it MOTed in 1985, a couple of months after I became 18. I used
5 weeks after school and refurbished the Austin for ca. kr. 2000,-
incl. new tyres, brakes, MOT-fee and licenseplates at kr. 400,-.
Right now it's stored and are going to hit the road again next
year.

I have an old A35 Saloon 1959, from
Jutland. Very rusty and been stored in a henshouse since early
'70.

I've bought an A35 Van in Silkeborg
from 1958. I was interested in buying it, so I have all models
in the A35-series. As said, as done. Last been driven in 1970,
so it is a very interesting car to the collection and it is in
somewhat good condition...
I've got the two black A35s and
they'll be complete refurbished. The one will be carefully originated
and the other will be a very special convertible.
I got a dented A30 from Amager, Copenhagen,
delivered by Claus Neble in the middle of november. He was going
to Samso to pick up an old Morris at the former Ford/Morris/Austin
dealer on Samso.
This (maybe) Sandringham Fawn Green
Austin A30 Seven is very early, probably produced in april/may
1953. It's an AS3! and 4-doors and have an 803 ccm-engine and
28 HP. I haven't got the V5-document on the car, but are investigating
the history on the car.
Now I've got two A70 Herefords, so
the only thing I need is a very seldom A70 Hampshire, I know it
was imported to DK - at least the CEO of Great Nordic had one
in the fifties....
